even blogs have to start somewhere - so why start here?
Well, on the one hand, I enjoy sharing my puzzles with others - sometimes those people like puzzles, sometimes they feel they have to humour me and pretend, but either way, I like to see people finding something apparently impossible, working out the first step to the solution and seeing the little light go on inside their heads as they hit the "A-Ha!" moment... then I know they're hooked, at least for a little while...
On the other hand, if you're going to collect puzzles, I don't think there's much point in hiding them away in an attic or keeping them out of direct sunlight - in the words of a great puzzle web-site: "Puzzle will be played"!
But there's only so many ways of sharing them around and making sure that they're getting played - and I'm sure that I'll be writing about the inaugural Midlands Puzzle Party in the near future - but one of the things that's given me personally a lot of pleasure, is reading about others' puzzle journeys (Rob, Brian, Oli - you know who you are and you have a lot to answer for!) , and this blog gives me another means of sharing some of my puzzles with anyone who's interested... (both of you, hopefully!)
...so over the next while I'll take you on a tour of my little collection and chat about puzzles a bit, 'cos I like chatting about puzzles...
Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging Allard! I look forward to reading some of your ramblings!
ReplyDeleteCheers for that Oli! - you need to share some of the blame for this though...
ReplyDeleteI'll gladly take some of the blame! Although after the MPP I think you also need to take some of the blame for my recent spending!
ReplyDeleteNice display case! I think I got the same one from Ikea, but I got black instead. Nice collection as well! You're going to need another one soon!
ReplyDeleteYip, it's on the other side of the room, next to my desk... it arrived a week and a half ago... still need to rearrange things...
